Zubu Design Associates is a progressive architecture and design studio led by Principal Architect, Arch. Buck Sia and his Managing Partner, Arch. Jumax Morgia. Buck started his own practice in 2005 and merged with Jumax at the end of the 1st Quarter of 2017. Zubu Design Associates is accomplished in various projects from residential, commercial, institutional, hospitality, and interiors.
Zubu Design Associates has also been featured in multiple publications and Buck was named one of the Top 20 Designers Under 40 by BLUPRINT Magazine. Zubu Design Associates strives to be modern in all of its developments. This uncompromising quality allows the studio to approach every concept with a serious thought process. This can be further enhanced by how the firm values progressive ideas, process driven design and justification through technical details. Architecture and design should be an intellectual pursuit that can affect the experience of its users.
Breece Residences is a result of our progressive approach to design – one that respects our modernist heritage while still maintaining a comfortable homeowner’s experience.
-Arch. Buck Sia
Our scheme was based on what the corner location and the site could offer to us so we developed each home with the intent that it was open enough to breathe without sacrificing the privacy of its residents. Taking this into context, it gave us an opportunity to integrate green spaces for each unit and give them an exclusive touch of nature that is rare amongst its urban surroundings.
In every Zubu-designed project, we feel the need to evolve our artistic language and Breece Residences is an example of how we apply this thought process. Each element is carefully pieced together to produce both coherent quality and a sense of uniqueness. The units reflect a consistent design aesthetic yet significant gestures in their façades and planning differentiate it from one another. As an ode to our signature architectural style, there is a smooth transition between areas that represent our contemporary technique while using natural light to brilliantly brighten the space.”
